Police have charged a man in connection with an alleged robbery in the north-east’s biggest town.
Officers had previously appealed for information after the incident at the Premier shop in Peterhead’s Marischal Street on Tuesday afternoon.
Police confirmed that a 33-year old man has been charged in connection with the alleged robbery and two other thefts from commercial premises.
A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and he is expected to appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court on Thursday, March 16.
Detective Sergeant Martyn Thomson, who led the investigation, said:
“Thank you to all those who provided information in relation to this inquiry, and to the local community for their patience while the incident was dealt with.
“The worker was not hurt or injured in any way, but it would have obviously been an extremely unsettling experience.”
Officers are still working to establish what was stolen from the shop.
