The work of two Lochaber teachers was recognised when they received a joint award.
Ardnamurchan High School’s Partnership Award – in memory of the late Iain Cameron – recognises voluntary or exceptional additional efforts on behalf of young people at the school and is presented annually by his widow, Louise.
This year, in recognition of the significant voluntary and after-school work involved in the school pantomime, the award and congratulations went jointly to Jillian Anderson, who also carries out extensive after-school music teaching and Patricia Kennedy who, in addition, mentored the award-winning candidates in the Young Chef competition.
Before making the presentation, Mrs Cameron, who established the award in 2004, said: “There is recognition of the huge effort that goes into the pantomime evening. As such, it does seem fitting for the award to be jointly awarded to Jillian Anderson and Trish Kennedy this year. I do hope they both feel their peers recognise and the school community appreciates the extra work and effort they put into the AHS environment.”
