One of Scotland’s most promising young cyclists has secured a sponsorship deal from a leading financial firm.
Georgia Mansfield has been donated a bespoke track bike as part of a three year deal by Central Investment based in Aberdeen.
The new bike and sponsorship deal will help her compete in key races and fulfil her dream of becoming a professional cyclist.
Ms Mansfield, who lives near Miltonduff in Moray, began cycling with local groups at age 14 and after following an intense training regime rode to success in 2014 where she competed in the Scottish Cycling Youth category.
Currently she holds the junior Scottish record for 25 miles and 50 miles, and junior Scottish north records for 10 and 50 miles.
Commenting on the sponsorship she said: “I am delighted with this gesture from Central Investment. Sponsorship is essential for me to continue training at the level required, and I genuinely couldn’t do what I love without it.
“There is definitely a great deal of strategic planning required for race season, you need the correct training, good focus, good nutrition and the right equipment. The key is to ensure peak performance for targeted races, and this coming season is set to be exciting, albeit challenging. I look forward to continued success and development.”
