Police are hunting for a mother who has gone missing from the Highlands with her son.
Sandra Element and 12-year-old Aiden Hoggard were last seen in Balintore, near Tain, last Monday at about 8.15am.
The pair, who were on Main Street, may have left the area on public transport.
Police say they were reported missing at 2pm on Friday, and last night appealed for them to get in touch to say they are safe and well.
Ms Element is described as being about 5ft 5ins, with brown hair and of slim build. When she was last seen, she was dressed in black.
Aiden is also of slim build, and is about 4ft, with brown hair. When last seen he was wearing a knitted jumper and was carrying a black rucksack.
Inspector Jane Nicolson said: “We are looking to trace Sandra and Aiden to ensure they are safe and well. It may be that they have left the area by using public transport and we just want to make sure they are OK.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101.”
Meanwhile, police in Cumbria are seeking information about the whereabouts of a local woman with connections to the West Highlands.
Janis Kelly was last seen at her home address in Milnthorpe, near Kendal last week.
The 58 year-old is described as white, around 5ft 5ins tall and has shoulder-length, grey, curly hair.
She drives a blue Skoda Fabia and is known to have connections in the Glen Etvie and Glencoe areas of Lochaber.
A Cumbria Police spokewoman said yesterday they were anxious to trace Ms Kelly.
Anyone who has knowledge of her whereabouts should call Cumbria Constabulary by dialling 101.
