Class A and B drugs worth £30,000 recovered from Orkney properties

Police on Orkney have recovered Class A and B drugs with a combined street value of almost £30,000.
Cannabis valued at more than £6,000 was recovered along with a high four-figure sum of cash in a number of searches at properties in the Kirkwall and Stromness areas.
After a connected raid, officers seized £20,000 worth of cannabis and a further four-figure sum of money.
Ecstasy and cocaine valued at £2,000 were also recovered.
Police said “a number of people” would be reported to the procurator fiscal in Kirkwall in connection with the seizures.
Detective Sergeant David Hall thanks the community for its assistance in connection with the inquiries which were assisted by officers from the community investigation unit in Inverness.
He said: “Targeting crime involving drugs is a priority to ensure the area remains one of the safest places to live and work.
“There’s no place for drugs in our communities and we work hard to make the region a hostile environment for such crime.”
