Police are appealing for help to trace a pensioner who has been reported from his home in Whiterashes.
He was last seen near Portlethen and is thought to be driving a Dark Blue Land Rover Freelander, with registration SO13 EVU.
Alexander Brown, 85, was reported missing last night when he failed to return his home in Whiterashes.
Mr Brown and his car were last sighted this morning close to the A90, near Portlethen at around 10.00am.
A police spokeswoman said: “Mr Brown is described as around 6’1″ in height, of slim build with white hair which is balding in the middle, he usually always wears a white jacket with grey smart trousers and walks with a walking stick and is known to wear a grey flatcap.
“There is concern for Mr Brown’s welfare and so we would ask that if anyone sees Mr Brown and/or his car to please contact Police Scotland on 101 as soon as possible.
“Mr Brown and his car were sighted in his car in the Portlethen area close to the A90 this morning at 10.00am however he has not yet been traced.”
