Fire crews have been called to deal with a flat blaze in the north-east last tonight.
A fire broke out in a first floor flat on Tytler Street in Forres at around 10pm.
Emergency services were alerted at 10.15pm and three appliances were dispatched, two from Forres and one from Nairn along with an incident support vehicle.
The four-storey building is not believed to have been occupied and a police spokesman confirmed they were also in attendance. He said: “We have three units at the scene at an address of Royal Court on Tytler Street in Forres. We have received information from the fire crews on site that they believe no-one is thought to be within the building.”
A spokesman for the fire service said: “We currently have two hoses in operation and are fighting a fire on the first floor. The building has four floors.”
