Emergency services were called to the A957 Stonehaven to Banchory Slug Road at around 8pm following reports that a car had gone up in flames.

A police spokeswoman confirmed that the road was “passable” but urged motorists to use care. She said: “The police officers in attendance are just waiting for the vehicle to be recovered and then the road will be fully open.
“The incident is 10 miles out of Stonehaven on the Slug Road. A single vehicle went up in flames, there were no injuries.
“The road is passable, but extreme caution is advised.”
