Police have issued a warning after vehicles in the Western Isles were targeted by thieves.
Goods were removed from a car and a van which were both parked in Stornoway.
Now officers in the Western isles are advising local residents to make sure their property and vehicles are kept secure at all times.
A Police spokesman said: “Both incidents occurred between 8pm on Saturday, September 2 and 8am on Sunday, September 3.
“One incident involved personal items being removed from a car parked on Goathill Road in the town. These were recovered soon after in the local area.
“The second involved items being removed from a van parked on Keith Street.
“Some of the things taken have since been recovered, but some low value personal items remain outstanding.”
Sergeant Jane MacKenzie added: “We are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in these streets on the night in question to contact us as soon as possible.
“I would also take the opportunity to remind people to make sure their property and vehicles are secure at all times to deter opportunist thefts.
“Any information can be passed to police in Stornoway by calling 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
