Police in Skye are appealing for information after two restaurants were broken into and cash was stolen.
Entry was forced to The Chippy and Taste of India on Quay Street, Portree, overnight between 9pm on Monday and 9am on Tuesday.
Quantities of cash were stolen from both businesses. One of the businesses is estimated to have had a low four figure sum removed, while the other business also had a quantity of cash stolen which is yet to be calculated.
Detective Constable Shonagh Laing said: “These are unusual incidents for Portree and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area overnight who saw anything they believe to be suspicious to contact us.
