The alarm was raised at around 12.25am and three appliances – two from Lerwick and one from Scalloway, were sent to the scene at North Road, Lerwick. Crews wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets, small gear and two thermal imaging cameras to extinguish the fire. A spokesman for the service said the stop message came in at 2.30am and the last appliance left at 5am. He added there was no casualties but one woman from an adjacent property was evacuated. It is understood the fire  affected the living room and roof space of the property but the spokesman could not confirm that.
