An otter cub is recovering at a Scottish animal centre after being rescued.
The 10-week-old creature was spotted crossing a road near Oban on Friday and was taken to the Scottish SPCA’s National Wildlife Rescue Centre.
Manager Colin Seddon said: “We named the cub Misty as she is very small and mist is made up of tiny droplets of water.
“She was difficult to feed when she arrived as she wouldn’t take a bottle but we were able to get her onto fish and she is now going from strength to strength.”
Colin added: “Misty is far too young to be on her own and wouldn’t have been able to survive in the wild if she hadn’t been found.
“She will be reared with another otter cub of a similar age, called Fin, who arrived into our care on Boxing Day.
“Misty will be released in around a years’ time when she is mature enough to fend for herself in the wild.”
Anyone who discovers an injured or distressed wild animal should call the Scottish SPCA animal helpline on 03000 999 999.
