Inverurie Academy has been forced to shut its doors today due to a lack of water.
Parents have been informed that pupils will be sent home “in the near future” and arrangements are being made for those requiring transport.
A statement issued by the school this morning said: “Due to the loss of our water supply, Inverurie Academy now has to close to all students and staff.
“Arrangements have been made for students who require school transport, and all students (including those who live in the town) will be released in the near future.
“Messages have been sent to parents/carers directly.”
It is not known when the school will re-open.
