One of the occupants of a Mitsubishi Shogun car that left the road near Tingwall in the early hours of Saturday has been airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
At the time of the transfer from Lerwick to Aberdeen his condition was described as stable.
The other two men injured in the single vehicle accident remain in Lerwick’s Gilbert Bain Hospital.
Their condition has been described as improving and both are expected to be discharged later this week.
Emergency services were called to the accident on the A970 near the Gott crossroads at just before 4am on Saturday morning.
Police in Shetland said the driver, aged 51, and his two passengers, aged 35 and 25, were taken to hospital.
The car came to rest on its roof in a field almost 50 metres off the road.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
