Police on Skye are investigating after a wooden bridge on a public path near Portree was dismantled.
The bridge connects Viewfield Road to the Forestry Commission walk at Shullishader allowing walkers to bypass a small burn.
Constable Lesley Campbell said: “The walk is frequently used by a large amount of dog walkers, joggers, and cyclists and this dismantling of the bridge has caused a considerable amount of upset in the community.
“Anyone who has any information is asked to contact Portree police station on 101. Alternatively you can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
It is believed that the damage occurred sometime between Monday evening and Tuesday morning.
It is understood that urgent repair works have been undertaken by the landowner to repair the damage sustained.
Investigation launched after Skye bridge dismantled
