A severely disabled Lewis teenager with a love of motorcycles was left thrilled when a group of bikers laid on a visit.
Calum Harrison, from New Tolsta, was born with a rare chromosome disorder which means he is unable to speak and cannot enjoy the typical life of a boy his age.
After hearing the 15-year-old was fascinated with loud, noisy machines, Stornoway biker Adie Leng organised a mini-rally and Englebret Filling Station offered the use of their lorry park for the meet-up.
And some 47 big-hearted bikers roared up to see Calum.
His mum Trish said he was so “excited” at seeing the motorbikes.
She added: “We are totally overwhelmed. This is amazing. This means so much to Calum. Its a once-in-a-lifetime experience and he absolutely loved it.
“I can’t thank people enough for their kindness, for coming out and doing this for him.”
She continued: “I didn’t expect all this to happen. I thought he would just get to see one bike because he likes loud things. He watches Formula One and motorbikes on the TV.
Calum’s dad Andy said: “The turnout is amazing. Calum likes anything that makes noises.
“My wife bumped into Adie Leng last week and they got talking. He said he would organise something and put the wheels in motion. My son is just amazed by this. He doesn’t have any speech and can’t do anything for himself but we can tell by his reaction what he likes.
“He was totally excited and was looking everywhere, watching them coming in.”
The bikers also presented Calum with gifts including a motorbike jacket.
