An investigation has been launched by the police after two red deer hinds were illegally killed last month.
The remains of the deer, who were both pregnant at the time, were found in a field near to the A865 between Bayhead and Kilmuir North Uist.
The incident happened around May 7.
Both deer had been shot and although deer can be killed lawfully the incident occurred during the closed season which is put in place to protect the welfare of female deer and their young.
The closed season is in place from April 1 to October 31.
Police in North Uist are appealing to anyone who has information about this incident to contact them on 101 quoting NH1052/18.
