A local dog lover and ambulance technician in Shetland have been praised for bringing smiles to the faces of patients and staff at the Gilbert Bain Hospital through an exhibition of pictures of her dogs.
Kaylee Robertston has seven dogs in total, consisting of six Shetland sheepdogs and one Alaskan klee kai, and has put the images on display after receiving positive feedback online.
Her pooches – Fenton, Thiago, Thorin, Gimli, Murphy, Ghost and Jara – have often become the topic of conversation of work in the ambulance, with poorly children responding well to seeing the images.
Kaylee said: “The response to the hospital exhibition has been fantastic, with loads of people stopping and grinning at them.
“I often forget what an intimidating and frightening place the hospital can be as I’m so used with it – I know the place inside out and most of the people who work there as I’m in it most days.
“Knowing that something I have created has taken away that fear, even for just a moment, is a bigger reward than what I could ever have imagined when I took the photo.”
The display is set to remain on the walls of the Gilbert Bain Hospital until July 7.
