The incidents took place yesterday at a shop in the Daliburgh area of South Uist and at Benbecula Airport. A vehicle was also stolen on South Uist. The man, 49, and woman, 56, are expected to appear at Lochmaddy Sheriff Court in September. Inspector Jane Nicolson said: “I would like to pass on our thanks to members of the local community on South Uist who helped with our inquiries. “We are committed to tackling acquisitive crime and urge anyone with concerns about suspicious activity to call us on 101 or 999 in an emergency.”
