Coastguard search and rescue helicopter Rescue 900 was called to assist a sick fisherman earlier today.
A spokesman confirmed an initial call was received at 7.30am to reports of an unwell crewman requiring urgent assistance.
The helicopter, based in Sumburgh on the Shetland Isles, was tasked to a boat around 50 nautical miles south-east of Sumburgh with footage showing a winchman from the helicopter attempting to access the vessel in choppy conditions.
The sick fisherman was airlifted to Lewrick before being transported on to the Gilbert Bain Hospital by ambulance.
