Bagpipers across the globe will play to honour the fallen at this year’s Armistice commemoration.
Tomorrow, 1,000 pipers from across the world commence the day’s commemorations with the traditional Scottish lament played at the end of battle – Battle’s O’er at 6am.
At 6.55pm 1,000 buglers will sound the last post at world war one beacons of light locations across the UK and UK Overseas Territories.
By 7pm 1,000 beacons will be lit and five minutes later 1000 cathedrals and churches will ring their bells and 100 British town criers will take to the streets to celebrate the peace.
Most pipers have chosen to play at churches, cathedrals, war graves and war memorials but some global locations include mountains, such as Ulhuru in Australia, the Menin Gate, Westminster Abbey and Arlington Cemetery.
