A new chief operating officer has started work at NHS Western Isles.
William Findlay has taken up the post following the retirement of nurse director Chrisanne Campbell.
Mr Findlay, who is also now the board’s Allied Health Professionals director, previously held clinical leadership positions in Canada.
This included stints as director of client relations, risk management and patient care at Vancouver Coastal Health and operations director for the central coast region.
He said: “It is lovely to be here on the Western Isles.
“I’ve been made feel very welcome and thank everyone for that, I’m very much looking forward to working with all of the teams recognising that Chrisanne leaves me very big shoes to fill.”
NHS Western Isles chief executive, Gordon Jamieson, said: “I am delighted to welcome William back to Scotland, our organisation, and wider community.
“I look forward to both benefiting from his knowledge, experience and leadership.”
