A Moray housing developer has submitted plans for a new development of 44 homes in a town in the region.
Springfield Properties has submitted an application for a new project in Aberlour.
They want to create 32 affordable and 12 private homes on the southwest outskirts of the town.
The plans include energy efficient two-storey detached and semi-detached properties, bungalows and flats.
The properties, which range from one to four-bedroom, are tailored to appeal to a variety of residents including families, pensioners and young professionals.
A housing association has yet to be identified to taken on the homes which will be located to the west of the A95 road.
Tom Leggeat, Managing Director, Springfield Partnerships explained the reasons behind why Aberlour was chosen as the next location for developments.
He said: “Aberlour is well-positioned between Elgin and Grantown. It is home to the Walkers Shortbread factory, Macpherson Aberlour Haulage Company and Aberlour Whisky Distillery – and is a very attractive village, ideally located for access to work and on the banks of the beautiful River Spey.
“The design of the development and the homes will be in keeping with the style and character of the village. The construction will bring jobs, apprenticeship opportunities and new housing to the area, benefiting the local community.
“We look forward to hearing the views from council members in the months ahead.”
