A unique festival is being organised in Moray for the first time to give local people the chance to celebrate the work of the emergency services.
The Moray Blue Light Festival follows in the footsteps of similar events held in both Fraserburgh and Glasgow as a showcase for vital services such as the police and paramedics.
There will be demos and exhibitions from a wide variety of groups, including the RAF, Morayvia and the coastguard team from Buckie.
The day is being organised and run by a group of four Moray College students as part of their event managements course and it is the first time it has been run in the region.

One of the organisers, Gemma Geddes, hopes the “overwhelming” support they have received from the public will help secure its future as an annual festival in Elgin.
She said: “We want to educate the public but also celebrate the services at the same time.
“It is an annual event everywhere else it is hosted and although we have started small, hopefully we can keep it running.”
The Moray Blue Light Festival will take place on Saturday March 23 from 1pm until 3pm at Moray College in Elgin.
Several demonstrations will be held and the public will be given the chance to view some of the vehicles used during emergency operations.
There will be no charge for people attending the event which will host lots of activities to entertain families.
Ms Geddes, 21, promised there would also be a few surprises in store on the day.
She said: “I don’t want to give away too much at the moment but this will be a chance for kids to meet their real-life heroes.
“We are hoping to raise awareness of the services and also bring the local community together to celebrate them.”
