Emergency services are in attendance at a road traffic crash on the A96 Inverness to Nairn road, at Dalcross near to Inverness Airport.
Police confirmed the road would remain open, with traffic using one lane.
The driver of the car, believed to have suffered leg injuries, was being cut out of the vehicle.
Three fire engines, an ambulance and police were in attendance. An eye witness said the car had left the road, gone over an embankment and ended up by a fence in a field, near to Kerrowaird.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said it was in attendance and confirmed that there was one casualty.
A spokeswoman for the Fire Service said: “We arrived on scene shortly after 1.30 pm to a RTC with one casualty.
“One vehicle left the road, and our ambulance colleagues are in attendance.”
