Police have confirmed that a potentially suspicious package discovered on Shetland today is not as feared as first thought after staff were evacuated from buildings near to the Sella Ness area.
Police had been called to the Sella Ness area of Shetland this morning after a “suspicious package” was discovered in the area.
As a result, evacuations of nearby buildings took place as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of all of those within the local vicinity.
However, after officers were able to attend and conduct inquiries, a spokesman has confirmed the package is not as feared as first thought and the alarm was raised with good intention.
