Motorists using the A87 south of Portree are set to benefit from an improved road surface when resurfacing works start this week.
The £125,000 investment by Transport Scotland will see improvements to a stretch of the A87 to the south of Portree, creating a smoother and safer road for motorists.
The project starts today and is scheduled to take four days and one night to complete.
The first four days of work will take place between 9am and 7pm, with overnight works between 7pm and 7am on Friday night. All works are due to be completed by 7am on Saturday May 4.
There will be 10mph convoy system in place during the daytime works on Monday to Thursday.
All traffic management will be lifted outwith working hours. During the overnight work on Friday, temporary traffic lights will be in place at the junction between the A87/A855 for safety, as well as a 10mph convoy traffic management system.
The A87 will remain open throughout the project.
Emergency services will be able to pass through at all times. Local access for residents will be provided through the works when it is safe to do so.
