An Aberdeen taxi firm has given Friends of Anchor a cheque for £2,000 in memory of a late colleague.
George Peck was selected as one of the models for the Brave shows which were held at the Beach Ballroom last weekend to raise funds for the cancer charity.
But Mr Peck succumbed to his illness a few weeks before he could take to the catwalk.
However, one of his fellow employees at Com Cabs, Mike Clark, was determined both to honour his memory and make a contribution to FoA’s coffers.
And this week, the company presented the cheque to the organisation at Balmoral Group headquarters in Aberdeen.
Mr Clark said: “George and I both set up JustGiving pages and we both wanted to make sure we could help Friends of Anchor, because they do such wonderful work.
“Sadly, George passed before the shows, but he was totally committed to the idea of Brave and Courage on the Catwalk and we are delighted to hand over this money.”
FoA said it was very grateful for the donation, which is helping their staff and volunteers in their efforts to create the new Anchor Centre, scheduled to open in 2021.
