A coastguard rescue team was tasked earlier this afternoon to assist a paddleboarder who had been reported to be in danger near to Stornoway.
The incident occurred at 4.49pm, with a concerned member of the public reporting that they had seen a paddleboarder in potential difficulty near Broad Bay.
Stornoway coast rescue team were sent to assist the paddleboarder who was found to be safe and well upon arrival.
The man is understood to have gotten caught in a riptide that had propelled him further from shore than he would have liked.
The Stornoway lifeboat had also been tasked but was stood down upon the revelation that the man was indeed in no danger.
The coast rescue team stood down as the made safely navigated his way back in to shore.
