Construction and gas firms have donated a combined £1,000 to help refurbish a Moray village hall as a way of thanking locals for their patience during roadworks.
SGN and Morrison Construction gave £500 each towards the maintenance of the Fochabers Village Hall, which is owned by the local community.
The Fochabers Village Association will use the donation to complete the installation of an air conditioning unit in the balcony seating area.
Both organisations have been involved in substantial works in the village this year.
In April, Morrison Construction completed an £800,000 project across Old Road Bridge on behalf of Scottish Water.
Meanwhile, SGN began £500,000 of complex work in February to replace the gas main there.
The companies worked together to keep temporary shelter in place across the bridge above the River Spey to protect the teams from the elements during construction.
Morrison Construction performance manager, Christina Calder, said the hall was “a special venue at the heart of this community”.
SGN project manager Allan Howie added: “We understand roadworks can be frustrating so would like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding whilst we worked.
“It’s really important to us to give something back to our local communities, so donating to the maintenance of the village hall was a pleasure.”
