Moray Inshore Rescue Organisation (Miro) has taken a pro-active approach to training with emergency services in the region.
Crew members were invited to visit the coastguard search and rescue facility at Inverness Airport to meet fellow volunteers and see first hand their new helicopters.
The collaboration between the rescue team comes as the charity looks to strengthen their links with local groups.
The visit was hosted by chief pilot, John McIntyre, and winch operator/chief crewman, Sean Proctor.
Peter Mackenzie, Miro operations manager, said: “We began our visit by looking at a map which highlighted the SAR hotspots in the area.
“It was very clear that the hotspots for the crew based at Inverness are the Ben Nevis and Cairngorm ranges.
“After a visit to the SAR Ops room, we were given a guided tour of one of the new helicopters and crew accommodation. MIRO crew found the visit very informative. “
John Low, chairman, added: “We are very grateful to the SAR service for taking the time to work with Miro.
“We appreciate the support we receive from them and are delighted to work with them to enhance the service we provide.”
Miro was called out 15 times in 2018 with the most recent call-out involved working with the RNLI Invergordon lifeboat to rescue a yacht that had got into difficulties north of Nairn.
