Heavyweights will be showing off their skills today as they delight the crowd at Aboyne Highland Games.
The annual show will also include Highland dancing competitions, individual piping competitions and displays from the massed pipe bands.
Athletes will also be aiming high as they take part in an array of events, including the popular six-mile hill race and Scottish Championship Footrace.
Thousands of people from around the world descend on the village green for the spectacle, and with forecasters predicting a warm, dry day the crowds this year is expected to be no different.
There will also be the around 80 stalls, and a large fun fair for some family fun.
Competitions begin at 10.30am and last until the massed pipes beat the retreat at about 5.30pm. Entry is £12 for adults, £3 for under 15s and free for under threes. Parking is free, and available on a first come, first served basis in the grounds of Aboyne Castle.
