A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash which left a busy north road closed for more than two hours today.
The emergency services were called to a stretch of the A82 Inverness to Fort William route north of Invergarry when the man’s vehicle left the road shortly after 3pm.
Due to the feared severity of the 39-year-old’s injuries, an air ambulance was scrambled – but he was transported to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness by road after being evaluated.
The road was reopened at 5.15pm but Traffic Scotland warned motorists to expect disruption as traffic remained “heavy” in the area afterwards.
A police spokeswoman said the man was being treated for “serious injuries”.
