People across the north and the north east are being urged to sign up for this month’s Supernova Kelpies 5k run to raise funds for Scotland’s only children’s hospice charity.
The event, which takes place at Falkirk’s Helix Park from March 20-22, is open to people of all ages who want to raise funds and witness the magical light and sound displays as they complete the scenic route around the Kelpies.
Children’s Hospices Across Scotland is looking for people to sign up for the challenge support babies and children with life-shortening conditions and their families.
Last year, 100 people ran the route and mustered £13,000 in the process.
Charlie Leavy, the organisation’s challenge events assistant, said: “Last year, we had multiple groups of CHAS runners, decked out head-to-toe in neon gear, and we’re hoping for another great turnout this year.
“So many of our fundraisers last year told us how much they had loved the spectacular light and sound displays, and we have been told the 2020 event will be even better.
“Every week in Scotland, three children with life-shortening conditions die, but at the moment, CHAS only reaches one of them.
“It is through people’s pledges to raise funds and and take part in events such as the Supernova Kelpies 5k that we can help CHAS reach every family who needs them.”
