A crash on the north-east’s busiest road caused rush-hour misery for drivers yesterday evening.
A woman was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with a neck injury after a Ford Fiesta went out of control on the A90 Aberdeen-Dundee road at Stonehaven, between the Spurryhillock and Netherley junctions.
Both lanes of the northbound carriageway were blocked for a short time, to let an ambulance get through.
The woman was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after the accident, which happened at around 5.25pm.
Her injuries are not thought to be serious.
Earlier in the day, a young couple were hurt when their motorbike crashed on the B979 Stonehaven-Netherley road, just outside Stonehaven.
The accident happened around 9.35am.
The 19-year-old male rider and his 18-year-old pillion passenger were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
The man was said to be in a stable condition last night. His passenger’s injuries are not thought to be serious.
The road was closed until around 4.35pm.
Meanwhile, police are appealing for witnesses to an accident in Aberdeen on Thursday night.
A 21-year-old man was hurt when his red and black off-road motorcycle and a black Vauxhall Meriva car were involved in a collision in Hilton Road at around 8.10pm.
A police spokeswoman said yesterday that his condition was not life threatening.
The driver of the car was uninjured.
The road was closed throughout the night, with local diversions put in place. It was reopened around 9.30am yesterday.
Police are particularly interested to hear from anyone with information about a white Ford Focus which was seen travelling close to the motorcyclist immediately before the crash.
