A win by any means will do for defender Grant Munro as Ross County aim to revive their campaign against Aberdeen at Victoria Park on Saturday.
The loss of three second-half goals in the Scottish Premiership defeat at Motherwell on Saturday ruined the central defender’s weekend and the 33-year-old reckons the Staggies need to adopt a more pragmatic approach against the Dons.
Former Caley Thistle defender Munro said: “It hurt losing at Motherwell and hopefully we can put it right against Aberdeen. Our supporters will get right behind us which will be a big help.
“Every game in this league is tough. Maybe it is not time to play pretty football and we have to start putting clearances into row Z.
“It might not be nice, maybe it is time to start winning ugly. Perhaps, that is the way to get our confidence going again and get back into it.”
Munro took his share of the blame for his part in County’s loss at Fir Park and wants no repeat when the Dons make the trip north this weekend.
He said: “We played our own part in our downfall against Motherwell.
“Mistakes are costing us, as they have in a few games this season. I have been a culprit on two or three occasions and I hold my hand up, other players will do the same.
“We need to cut out the errors. It seems to be any mistake we make gets punished.
“Hopefully, things will turn round our way. People might think it is all doom and gloom but games come thick and fast and we have a chance to rectify things at home against a very good Aberdeen side on Saturday.
“For long spells we were comfortable against Motherwell but we played a major part in their goals.
“You can say it was good play from them but it was very bad defending on our part. It is something we need to work hard on, as individuals, as a back four and as a team.
“We have the team spirit, we are going through a sticky patch and results have been up and down. If we stick together things will come good.”
