I’ve just driven the most powerful Rolls-Royce through the Alps, the 196mph Porsche 911 GT3 at a racetrack and been in the F1-derived McLaren P1 around a purpose-built bowl at scream-inducing speeds. Not a bad week’s work.
These are three of the hottest new machines on sale right now, but there are very few roads south of the border engaging enough for owners of such machines to unite as one.

Top Gear filmed one of the most raucous Ferraris ever made along the A93 just south of Breamar, demonstrating the perfect fit between road and the F12berlinetta’s 730bhp V12 engine and talent. It would have been a very different film had they actually used Hertfordshire, as Jeremy Clarkson alluded to cheekily.
