Western Isles Council has confirmed that parking charges will once again apply in the centre of Stornoway.
The local authority had suspended the fees during the earlier days of lockdown in April.
Now that streets in and around town centres all over Scotland are starting to become more bustling places, the charges are to be reintroduced from Monday, July 20.
The council said there had been “noticeably increased demand for parking in the town centre” as restrictions have become loosened.
The move to reinstate charges will mean there is short-term parking available for those who need it.
Meanwhile, Highland Council will reintroduce charges in Inverness from next week.
In Moray, local authority bosses have said they will consider whether to impose the charges in Elgin after town centre businesses reacted angrily to their planned reintroduction.
