Ross County midfielder Rocco Quinn wants to make teams fear coming to Victoria Park after the Staggies sealed a third home win of the season by defeating Aberdeen 1-0 on Saturday.
The 27-year-old netted seven minutes into the second half for the Dingwall club to silence the 1,922 Dons supporters who created a superb atmosphere in the Highlands.
Quinn reckons home form will be the key to moving County further up the Scottish Premiership table and said: “It is important we are hard to beat at home. We don’t want teams to come up here and think it is an easy place to play.
“If we perform like we did against Aberdeen that will be the case for the rest of the season.
“If we win our home games and try to take something away from home then we will be doing well – that is the aim.
“The clean sheet is massive, some of the goals we have lost have been inexcusable. We have looked at it time and again and the manager has worked with us on it in training to try to prevent these things happening.
“To come away with a clean sheet against Aberdeen, especially with the players they have, is fantastic.
“Our goalkeeper Mark Brown was not troubled too much.”
Quinn’s second-half goal was decisive and he was quick to credit Dutchman Melvin de Leeuw for setting him up.
The former Celtic and Queen of the South midfielder showed great composure and technique to score from a difficult angle to net the game’s only goal.
He said: “It was nice to score, it was my second goal of the season and it was a great feeling.
“It was good to get another chance so quickly. I had one in the first half which was playing on my mind a bit.
“I was already away celebrating before I put the ball in the net for the first chance.
“It was good to get another opportunity and I am just glad it went in.
“It was a great through ball from Melvin de Leeuw and he was excellent.
“Melvin has been great, he has worked really hard and got a couple of goals now.”
