An Aberdeen restaurant has been recognised as part of two major Scottish awards events.
Cinnamon was named as a finalist in the Restaurant of the Year (North East) category at the recent Scottish Curry Awards. The ceremony was held at the Thistle Hotel in Glasgow.
The Indian restaurant was also shortlisted for the Best Takeaway honour at the Scottish Entertainment Awards in recognition of its @ Home offering, based on Merkland Road East. The result was announced at a glittering ceremony in Glasgow’s Clyde Auditorium.
Having won both accolades in 2013, Cinnamon came close to repeating the feat. However, Anis Ahmed, director of Cinnamon, is targeting a successful return next year.
He said: “Naturally we’re disappointed not to have won but it will give us extra motivation to do well at next year’s events. We knew we were up against some other worthy competitors so even to be named as a finalist was a terrific achievement for our business.
“As a team, we are always working hard to improve the quality of both our food and service to provide customers with the best possible experience.”
Anis Ahmed won the Aberdeen Lions Club Rising Star Award at Aberdeen’s Best Curry Awards 2013.
