Roy McBain scored Cove’s goal in last week’s 1-1 Scottish Cup second-round draw at Brora Rangers and the former Caley Thistle midfielder would like nothing better than to repeat the feat in today’s Allan Park replay.
McBain, 38, said: “You certainly couldn’t call me a prolific goalscorer but I really enjoyed scoring at Dudgeon Park last Saturday.
“I also enjoyed the tussle with two of my old Caley Jags team-mates, Ross Tokely and Richie Hart who are both very good players.
“We have had a couple of tough games with Forres and then Brora and because they beat us 3-0 at Allan Park at the end of August I think most people expected us to get turned over again last Saturday.
“That draw last weekend has given us a bit more belief.
“We haven’t started the season that well but we are improving.”
Brora coach Alan Duff, the former Ross County and Caledonian centre forward, said: “We won down at Cove at the end of August and I think we took them a bit by surprise.
“I don’t really think they were expecting us to play with the quality we did that day. Our movement up front was tremendous. We took them apart and they just couldn’t handle us.
“Cove deserved their replay last weekend as it was probably the poorest we have played so far this season. A draw was the right result as neither side did enough to win the game.
“Tomorrow’s game could well go to extra-time and even a penalty shootout it is that close to call.”
Brora will be without midfielder Dale Gillespie who has been in plaster for the last five weeks with a broken metatarsal.
