Globe trotting TV presenter Julia Bradbury had a pizza express with a difference while filming on the isle of Skye at the weekend.
The former Countryfile presenter and her crew worked up an appetite on location at remote Loch Coruisk in the heart of the Cuillins and called up a long-distance delivery.
Newly opened Cafe Sia at Broadford rustled-up 11 pizzas costing more than £90 and drove them 12 miles to a waiting fast boat, which then ferried them on a 40-minute trip to the starving customers.
David Brown owner of Bella Jane Boats, said: “It was like the Milk Tray advert but with pizza.
“They were still hot and greatly appreciated.
“We have had some unusual requests over the years but this was up among them.”
The delivery was a second brush with fame for the boat firm.
Only last week it was ferrying Hollywood star Ben Stiller and TV adventurer Bear Grylls around for a new series.
Ms Bradbury was thrilled with the service, tweeting: “Thanks for the pizza David Bella Jane. #onceinalifetime”.
Café Sia, the only Italian restaurant on Skye, cooked the 12 inch pizzas in a wood-fired oven, before owner Tom Eveling personally drove them to the boat at Elgol.
“We don’t normally do deliveries but this was a special order,” said chef Mark Gordon.
The film project is being kept under wraps, but a post on Ms Bradbury’s website reveals: “Julia has been heavily involved in the development of this new programme, and the focus will remain around her passion for the great outdoors.”
The star is no stranger to Scotland.
The 43-year-old has previously walked the Speyside Way between the villages of Craigellachie and Ballindaloch, spent time with the Scottish Ambulance Service and flown with the RAF search and rescue team based at Lossiemouth, Moray during filming for various programmes.
