Police are hunting vandals who sprayed graffiti over 11 homes and businesses in Inverness.
Brightly-coloured tags were discovered painted on the buildings throughout the Hilton area.
Popular local bar Dows, on Balloan Road, was among those targeted, along with a Ladbrokes shop and sheltered housing in the same street.
Other properties in Aird Road and Old Edinburgh Road also had similar symbols sprayed on their walls.
Officers are appealing for information about the incident.
Council workers were called in to paint over the graffiti on the gable end of the sheltered housing.
The same initials were painted in the same style on several different buildings, suggesting that one person may have been responsible.
Ken Loades, owner of Dows Bar, said: “It’s disappointing because we do not usually get trouble round here.”
He said that he believed other shops in the Balloan Road area were not targeted because they have CCTV.
Mr Loades said that he was now considering spending £2,000 on a camera system. A police spokeswoman said: “Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the early hours of Thursday morning, in particular between 1am and 2am, or has information about any of the incidents.”
