Celebrating 25 years in 2014, Duchamp has embarked on a new approach and aesthetic for their SS15 menswear.
A new chapter in Duchamp’s story sees the British brand’s menswear designer, Gianni Colarossi, newly appointed as creative director. Taking the concept of the modern British gentleman and his journey through a summer season, Colarossi focuses the collection on three distinct stories: Elegant English Gentry, Contemporary Riviera and Summer Eveningwear.
Presented as a whole, a diverse mix of summer tailoring is shown to be the strength of the brand with bold English, Scottish and Italian fabrics highlighting Colarossi’s heritage and experience in both British and Italian menswear design.
Elegant English Gentry imagines a contemporary business look with a nod to eccentric summer styling. Single-breasted peak lapel suits in Italian lightweight wool appear in muted tones of blue and grey, each accentuated with ties and pocket squares made in Suffolk in rich yellows and electric blue.
Considering high summer relaxed dressing, the Contemporary Riviera capsule presents unstructured seersucker notch lapel blazers and double-breasted jackets in slick twill and panama cottons. Combined with the slim silhouette of a linen trouser in fresh pastel shades and kaleidoscopic paisley scarves, an immaculate outfit for any outdoor social engagement is complete.
Encapsulating the Duchamp expertise in fabric innovation, Summer Eveningwear includes exclusively printed silk shirts and jackets in paisleys and diamond spots. Lightweight velvets join pure woven and printed 50-ounce silks for jackets that are at once super slick and effortlessly cool.
