Hake’s delight at new Buckie contract

Buckie Thistle have been boosted with the news that their management team of Gary Hake, his assistant Kevin Small and first-team coach Paul Lamberton have all signed new two-year contracts.

The new deals will keep them at Victoria Park until the end of the 2015-16 season at least.

Hake has recently completed successful contract negotiations with Lewis MacKinnon, Donnie Munro, Shaun Carrol, Iain MacRae, Aaron Conway and Neil Davidson.

The Jags manager said: “Kevin, Paul and myself are delighted to have signed new two-year rolling contracts

“This is a reward for all the hard work we have put into the club. We have started the season quite well and have surprised a lot of people. I am delighted that our chairman, Garry Farquhar, shares my belief and ambition.

“We are still in the process of rebuilding the side, it is going to take time and it certainly doesn’t happen overnight but we are very pleased indeed that he has rewarded us with that chance to rebuild the squad.”

Hake added: “I don’t see any reason why we can’t reach the top six. We have already proved that we can match the top teams, although we have dropped four points at home to so-called lesser teams. We just seem to be lacking that wee cutting-edge in the last third of the park.

“I think we are stronger at the back, and the midfield are creating chances. We’re just not putting them in the back of the net. If it doesn’t happen for us we will just have to change our personnel.”
