The funeral of a 24-year old Lewis man who died following a car crash is being held tomorrow.
Iain Gillies, of Skigersta, Ness, died from serious injuries in Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley on Tuesday, three days after the road accident.
He had been in a critical condition since his green-coloured Ford Focus car collided with a stone wall in the village of Lionel, in Ness, in the north of Lewis at 12.50am on Saturday June 14.
Personnel from the local volunteer fire crew gave him CPR at the scene and he was rushed to the Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway.
Later, he was airlifted to the intensive care unit in the Paisley hospital.
Mr Gilles worked as a mechanic in garages in Stornoway.
His family hail from Knockaird in Ness and his brother Donald plays for the district’s senior football team.
His funeral services starts at 1pm in Cross Free Church.
The lift and funeral procession is due to leave the church at 1.30pm to Habost cemetery.
