If I had to pick one type of property to be my favourite, it would have to be the cottage.
It’s the charm and character of it that I love and the fact that despite coming under the one “umbrella” each cottage looks totally unique to the next.
Broadward Cottage is one that would definitely be at the top of my list.
Located just a few miles outside the popular town of Ellon, near Ythanbank, this lovely three-bedroom detached cottage would be a perfect family home for those looking to experience country life.
But it would also be great for those wanting to stay close enough to Aberdeen, Dyce, Inverurie or Peterhead to commute – the best of both worlds really.
Inside there are a host of features sure to impress visitors.
First up is the spacious lounge where you can stand at the window in the warm and look out at the beautiful views that come in abundance with this home.
Double doors lead you to the kitchen and family area on an open plan basis. Stylish and contemporary, this room is fantastic for both budding chefs and also for keeping an eye on the little ones while you cook.
It is also a great space for families to get together and spend some time together – or snuggle up in front of the wood burning stove, which creates a great focal point in the room.
The stunning kitchen has been fitted with high quality cream base and wooden effect wall units with integrated appliances which are included in the sale.
The cottage also has three good sized bedrooms, one of which benefits from built-in wardrobes and a family bathroom with a white three-piece suite with a shower over the bath.
Outside the cottage – on the market for offers over £210,000 – there is a large gravel driveway to the front of the cottage which provides ample off-street parking.
At the back there is a nice big garden which both children and adults will enjoy spending time in during the summer months. And for green fingered people, there is also a vegetable patch, two sheds and a greenhouse.
Ellon is a popular town with plenty to offer growing families. Amenities in the area include an array of shops and primary and secondary school education – which will be replaced with the new Ellon Academy.
