The former managing director of Robert Wiseman Dairies is to become a non-executive board member of Graham’s The Family Dairy.
Billy Keane, who was Wiseman’s long-serving finance director, takes on his new role on December 1. He left Wiseman with other directors last November, nine months after it was taken over by Muller, the German-based dairy giant.
Graham’s managing director, Robert Graham jun, said Mr Keane would help the firm realise its ambitious plans to grow its market share.
Once Mr Keane joins Graham’s, it will have two non-executive directors. The other is Simon Thomson, chief executive of Cairn Energy, the Edinburgh-based oil and gas business.
Mr Keane, now the chairman of trade body Dairy UK, said: “Although market competitors for many years, I always held great admiration for the Graham’s business and its traditional family values. It now remains one of the few key players in the industry left in Scotland under independent ownership.” He added: “It is exciting to discover the passion and vision they have for their brand, products, staff and customers.”
Graham’s based Bridge of Allan also has an operation at Nairn.
