Graeme Bennett has stepped down from his position as vice-chairman at Caley Thistle after growing disillusioned with decisions being made at board level.
The Highland club’s former director of football leaves Caledonian Stadium after almost 12 years, during which he also served as a director.
Bennett, who played for Caley Thistle and managed Clach in the Highland League, asked the Caley Jags board to withdraw a resolution for his re-election prior to the club’s annual meeting on Wednesday and is now no longer involved with Inverness.
He said: “I am standing down from the board with a huge number of happy memories from my playing days right through to the various posts I held as a director. I am leaving on good terms but I have to say my decision has been prompted by growing reservations about the boardroom mix and the influence that is having.
“As the club moves into a new era and in its highest ever league position, I wish it all the best for the future. I would also like to thank the fantastic support which I have had from various chairmen and fellow directors and also the solid supporter base which has played such a big part in getting the club where it now is. I look forward to continuing to attend games as a supporter.”
