Caley Thistle hope to complete their search for a new manager this week but defender Carl Tremarco hopes he and his team-mates have already proved there is life after Terry Butcher.
Inverness chairman Kenny Cameron is due to conduct interviews in the next 48 hours in the hope of appointing a successor to Butcher in time for Saturday’s Scottish Cup tie against Morton.
Former Kilmarnock manager Kenny Shiels, former Celtic attacker Chris Sutton and Csaba Laszlo, formerly of Hearts, are among those hoping to succeed Butcher.
But Tremarco, who set up Billy McKay for the only goal in Saturday’s 1-0 home win against St Johnstone, believes the team Butcher built is more than capable of succeeding without the former England captain.
Tremarco said: “Our attitude has been spot on. We know what we’ve been doing all season, so nothing needs to change.
Tremarco claims to have paid little attention to the candidates hoping to become Caley Jags manager but does not subscribe to the theory that a carbon-copy of Butcher is required. He said: “It doesn’t have to be a certain model, a Butcher Mark II. Hopefully, whoever the chairman sees fit will be the right one.”
